Helsinki Jazz Life 2 – Johan Dahlbo Retrospect

In the depths of Helsinki there is Bar Loose where you literally go downstairs to the event room where gigs are held. I was at another gig earlier so arrived late for this gig. But as soon as I arrived I was taken aback by the groovy playing of Johan Dahlbo Retrospect. I managed to capture a bit of their last song.

The group consists of some of the most prominent jazz musicians of their generation – Sami Leponiemi on tenor saxophone, Mikko Antila on vibraphone, Johannes Granroth on guitar, Ilari Kauppi on organ, and group leader Johan Dalhbo on drums. These musicians a part of a tight group of friends that play together regularly in different ensembles. I have played with most of them at jams and gigs. They are truly amazing musicians.
